help needed
« on: January 02, 2009, 10:34:14 AM »
I took apart the 500 handi rifle for some winter cleaning.  I should have asked for advice first.  I removed the small and large trigger assembly pins and out came the trigger assembly.  But along with it came a large dia. spring and a part that looks something like a hook???  I need some reassembly help!  I have no instructions for reassembly.

Thanks
ajm

I did that, and finally just gave up and packed it off to a gunsmith friend to put back together and do a trigger job.  It looked soooooo easy in the FAQs.

Look at the FAQ - it shows a compete disassemble. just reverse it to put it back together. You might as well stone the sear and trigger while you have it apart - it's there too. Good Luck and Good Shooting

It can be difficult. It took some real locker room language to get the first one I took appart back together... :-[ :-[ ::) :-[ :-[

I made up two little "helpers" and now its easier but still not my most fun job. An extra hand is very helpful as compressing that spring and pushing the trigger guard up in is "daunting".  :o ;D

Good luck,

I finally got it!  You are right.  It does take time patience and prayer.  I did a little stone work while it was apart and all seems to work well.

Thanks to all

CW, can you post a pic of your "helpers"?
