Where to find descent priced, quality LEATHER HOLSTERS?????

Hello All,
I'm looking so start buying some Descent Priced, Quality Leather Holsters and was looking for some suggestions of where to buy them.  

First one I'm looking for is a Field type of holster for a Ruger Redhawk 5 1/2 inch barrel.  Not really concerned about type of leather or color.  If it where to have the third holster hole for a cross-draw option that would be even better...........   Looking to spend under 50 bucks..

Check out San Pedro Saddlery. Big Ed is an advertiser on this site. You'll find his banner on the CAS Forum where it alternates with the Shootin Carts banner as forum sponsor and also on the TC Rifle forum. (Why there? Dunno it just shows up there so we left it.  :eek: )

Right now Ed is having a July sale with I believe 20% off regular prices which really makes his quality leather a super buy. He has some posts on some of the handgun forums calling attention to the sale.

I went with Mernickle Custom Holsters.  He made a really nice crossdraw/strong side draw for my Mag-Na-Port custom Super Blackhawk.

You may have to email them to see if they have one for your gun.

I have a few of these holsters, they are unlined, and for the money I think they are hard to beat. Give 'em a look.

I also use several Elpaso Saddlery holsters that are excellen quality. http://www.epsaddlery.com/ But for the money I think the Old World leather is a very good buy.

don't fail to take a look at Don Hume. High quality for about 1/2 the price of some of the other big names.

I am really happy with my Galco Dual Position Phoenix.  can be worn strong side, or crossdraw.

Just got a San Pedro Saddlery Tom Threepersons holster about a week a go. Excellent quality and price. Mine is a right hand cross draw. You will like it.

     Quality leather for under $50?  I've yet to see any quality leather for that price.  You get what you pay for!  although it's over your $50, I continually suggest and use almost exclusively Mitch rosen leather gear.  www.mitchrosen.com  While people suggest and like those leather pieces made on huge production lines (such as galco, hunter) I don't believe you get the same fit and hand made quality as with individually handmade pieces.

Your best value can often be found used at your local sporting goods/gunshop. For some reason, people don't seem to put a very high value on used leather. I have picked up some really nice holsters at a steal. You just have to ask, and look. Usually, they are stuck away in a box, somewhere out of the way. I try to make it a point to do this whenever I find myself outside my usual haunts, in hope of finding something new. Like an as-new T/C holster for the 10-12" Contender I scored the other day. It can be worn as a shoulder holster, or on the hip, for the princely sum of $5.00. This don't happen too often, but it does happen.

Unless you carry a gun often you should probably be satisfied with Hunter or Triple K brand leather holsters. These are very reasonably priced and are typically found in Cabelas and Cheaper than Dirt catologs. They both have good web sites with lots of pictures. I have a 30 year old Hunter holster i got from my father that still works fine, because I only carry a gun a couple of days a year.  Hope this helps.

Like BIGDODGE I suggest Cabela's and/or Hunter Holsters in Westminster, CO. I have five of theirs including a crossdraw, and they won't bust your budget. They're not the fanciest looking you'll find, but it sure is functional.
