i'm getting ready to send my handi out for new barrels, and wanted to make sure something i saw here was still allowable. someone had said they only sent their reciever....without stock, to be fitted, so they wouldnt have to pay as much shipping. being a cheapskate, that sounds good to me!!!

That's all I do, but I always order a stock set too cuz I only have complete rifles.  I don't know if anyone has tested Remington on that yet, Gardner would fit and return it just fine without a stock, dunno about Ilion yet. I wouldn't send a nice stock set if you have a choice if you decide to send it with. Their instructions do say to send the stock and forend, you wanta be the guinea pig?  :D Worse case scenario, they'll ask for the stock set to be sent which will cost even more after the fact.  :-\
