I recently killed two deer with a .280 handi Rifle that I built from parts. The largest is an 18.5" inside spread 8 point. Reading this forum, the FAQs and constantly checking the classified has made it possible for me to accomplish this. There are a bunch of really helpful members that have a wealth of knowledge that deserve a big thank you.
Three handi rifles now reside in my gun cabinet but the .280 is my favorite. The gun was built from parts either bought from the classified or mentioned in the classified and I have several members to thank for their contributions.
The barrel was bought from "Buckslayer" and the receiver was purchased from "Arrowstar". The stock is the Camo Laminated Thumbhole purchased from Boyd's in their recent special. I wish I had bought more than one!!! The forearm was a direct purchase from H & R.
This rifle will shoot under 1" at 100 yds with Federal Fusion 140 grain ammo. I have not tried anything else yet. Needless to say I am one happy and satisfied handi-holic.
