No Tikka in MY Future; Booo Hooo!
« on: August 10, 2003, 03:17:49 PM »
Fellow Tikka Whitetail Hunter owners of the Forum; I have searched HI and low for a 223 in a Syn/blue but to no avail. The T-3's are available, but I don't want a long action with a short case. My preference. I found 22-250's but no 223's. The Continental Varmit (used) is still on Gun of America for $495 but I want a walking gun. I may have to buy a Howa or the local Gun Shop has a Ruger Mk-II in 223 with a well used/abused  Leupold Vari X-II for $445. The gun is LNIB, the scope has taken a licken, Hope she is still a ticken, if I buy it. The trigger is about 5lb and the barrel is apparently not free floated. Maybe a presure point just about an inch in from the tip of the forend. The gaps on the sides of the barrel look very tight and close too. Nearly 3 weeks have passed since my B-day and this green leafy substance is burning a hole in my pocket. :?  Patience my A**, I want to buy something!
Whats a person to doooo???
Help me out here guys!

Randy

I can't believe there are none out there.  Have you tried to order one thru an authorized dealer??  I would also call the gun people of Gunfinder.com in Hastings Michigan.  They seem like good people . . . maybe with the volume of guns they go thru they can find one for you.   Good luck

If you want a walking varmint rifle in .223, go to walmart and buy a Howa hunter for $386.  Use the money you save for ammo or a scope. (BTW, I HAVE a Tikka Continental Varminter in .22-250, and I AM going to buy a Howa Hunter .223 for walking around with).

Tom

:-D Thanks Guys, Just talking about it really helps. Free counseling. I will try the suggestions given, hope one will pan out.  I have looked at "THE GOOD BOOK" at Wally World and this was my Howa choice spot. Tikka first, Howa second, Nikon or Bushnell first/second.

Thanks, Will keep ya posted,

Randy
