18" Hornet?

Stopped by a gun shop on the way home tonight, and they had a used Handi in .22 Hornet with an 18" barrel. The thing that surprised me was that it looked like a factory crown on the barrel, and the blueing looked original too. Was / is this a factory option barrel length for any calibers?

 As far as I know they only made 22 Hornett with 20 and 22 inch barrels.
 Stranger things have happen. some body came with a bull barrel 22 hornett.
 Just my 2 cents Marv.
