may get a .204
« on: November 20, 2008, 12:23:40 PM »
found a used, but in good condition, .204 at my favorite gun shop. I can pick it up for about 160 plus the tax, (not scoped).

Im just curious as to what you guys think of the .204 out of the 22" barrel.  I dont NEED one, Im really not dying to have one either, I just think It may be a fairly good deal, and worth a try. This one was built in 2005 NV, and previous owner said it was a shooter, my gun guy whom I trust backs him on it.

any advice would be great.

I don't understand ballistics much at all , but I had one about a year ago, same barrel {bull},and if it shoots anything like mine, you'll LOVE IT!!!! I plan on getting another one very shortly.Very Very good shooter.I was drivin one after the other in the same holes at 125yds.I coyote hunt so it does well in that area.I'm new to this site and wished I found it years ago ....very good reading here!!!

The price is great, it's a shooter, and it's a Handi.

What are you waiting for?
My culled down Handi's are the 45-70, and then I have a few others to keep it company...357 Mag/Max. .45 LC/.454 Casull Carbine, .243 Ultra, and 20 gauge Tracker II.

well I wasnt sure of the barrel length, Im sure It does far better say out of a 24-26" tube, at least its what im reading, I just was concerned if the 22" would hamper the performance to the point of me waiting to find one with the longer barrel.

I may just have to go grab it.  ;D

thanks

According to Bullberry's website, the test they did showed only a 15 fps gain from 22 to 24", with 23" actually being faster than 24". I think it was with factory ammo, and handloads might make a difference, but I think velocity loss would still be negligible.
