reduced power springs available??
« on: October 25, 2008, 04:37:21 AM »
Does anyone make reduced power springs for our handi's . I did a trigger job on my survivor ( THANKS TO THE FAQ'S), and it turned out pretty good , smooth and crisp , however I was only able to get it down to about 4#10 oz. I was wanting about 3# . I kept honing but the weight never seemed to change , has anyone bent or modified the stock spring . Thanks in advance.

Keep honing! ;) The trigger spring needs to be shortened some tho. I've done well over two dozen trigger hones, some take a lot of honing to get to 3lbs, some don't take much to get well below that, that's why you have to go slow, once it gets to a certain point, it goes fast, I've had to replace one hammer cuz I went too far!! :o

About $10 any place you get it, Brownell's is the fastest.

Well, I honed and honed and honed and honed , now i have a smooth as butter 3# trigger  ;), Thank you for your input . Also for a slave pin i cut down a small bolt instead of metal rod , it worked great and most people have various bolts laying around ;D .

Great!! ;) I've been using a piece of wood dowel for a slave pin, REAL easy to make another one when I lose it!!! ;D
