204 Ruger Range report

Shot the 204 ultra the other day and noticed a trend.
I was shooting 32 gr. factory hornady's and every third shot in a row would
be at least 1" high.  I allowed a few minutes (1-3) in between shots the first two
touch and the third was always high.  Repeated this three times to eliminate the
possibility that it was the shooter   ;)  Is this common?  I make the first shot count
so I'm not crying, but it's nice to have that dime size group for bragging rights.  ;D
Shot a coyote at 270 yards with her yesterday awesome "bang flop" those v-max's
are wicked lil bombs.

I shoot the same ammo in my HANDI RIFLE and have never had that to happen. Mine will keep three completely under a dime (always) and five under a nickle (most of the time).
I would venture a guess that it almost has to be heat related.
Try one more time and allow a little longer between shots.
My three shot strings is done one right after the other. Same for the five.
I believe if I allowed more time between shots on the five string it would do better.
Like you said really doesn't matter the first one usually gets the job done.
Never more than two!

Yes I would try 5 shot groups and see what the last couple does...

My experience is that I shot a box of Hornady 32s and a box of Hornady 40s all factory loaded with a brand new CZ

5 shot groups at 100 yards and I shot five of the 32s at one target then five of the 40s at the next alternating back and fourth until I had em all shot up and had a total of 4 targets for both the 32s and 40s (no barrel cleaning)

Results ended up with the 32s shooting actually a lil under .4" and the 40s doing an honest 1.1"

My CZ 527 Varmint was doing that. I checked the barrel channel in the stock and it was very sloppy-there were a lot of bumps in the wood pressing on the barrel. I sanded it out and made it free floating and it quit throwing flyers like that.

I assume you are shooting a NEF Ultra. Heat and forestock pressure would be my first guess.
