The classifieds over on Savageshooters.com, although you have to be a paid member to use the classifieds. It costs $12/yr, but you will probably save that much on your first purchase in the classifieds. Alot of guys buy factory guns and sell the stocks and barrels either new unfired or very low round counts.

What barrel are you looking for? I have a new unfired 308 sporter I may sell soon.

Thanks for the reply.  I recently purchased a model 110 in .270 that had been allowed to rust.  It cleaned up rough and the inside bore at the muzzle is rough for about one inch.  I haven't shot it yet so I don't know how it will shoot.  I could have an inch or two cut off the barrel but I thought I might find a take off barrel.  I prefer a 30.06 since I have ammo and dies for the .06.  I believe (and please correct me if I am wrong) that I can swap the .270 for an .06 without changing anything but the barrel?  Any suggestions appreciated - Thanks.

You are so correct ;D The 308 will fit also, course there will be a little slop in the magazine and a long bolt throw to contend with and it ain't an '06. ;D

There is a new unfired Stainless 30-06 barrel in the classifieds @Savageshooters right now for I think $100 shipped.

Yes, the 06 and the 270 are interchangeable. The good thing about having a long action is you can use almost any cartridge(long and short) in it.

You could also look into the Adams&Bennett barrels that MidwayUSA sells. They are decent barrels. As good or better than factory anyway.

The 30-06 is a better option IMO also. Alot more bullet selection than the 270.
