Phenomenal SAVAGE customer service.
« on: August 13, 2008, 10:28:09 AM »
Guys,

Just to let you know, Savage Customer Service is First Class. A few months ago I contacted them about an issue I had with a Savage 210F. I was surprised when I got a return call from the man himself, Joe Degrande  (Director, Customer Service).
He suggested that I send in the firearm for their examination. A couple of weeks passed and I was told by Joe that the problem was resolved and the 12 ga. would be shipped . He trusted I would be happy with the corrections and to let them know if they could be of further assistance.
Let me tell you out there, I couldn’t be happier with the results. They even sent me a test target shot at 100yds 1.7 inches for three shots..( 3” Win. 385 gr. Partition Gold) Two shots almost touched. Not bad for a slug gun eh ? That 210F does shoot.

Since I believe in telling the “Boss” (Ron Coburn) as well as the Savage Team, I trust Mr. Coburn  reads this message.  Maybe his admin. will relay it to him.

To everyone on the  “SAVAGE TEAM“……..

THANKS ! You all did a great job.
P.S. My selection for an F-Class rifle WILL be a Savage.

I ruined a magazine housing on a Stevens 200. Called up with the part number and the gal on the other end asked if it was defective or my fault. I was honest and said it was my fault. She said it would be $5.95 + shipping. It came by US Mail and the shipping was minimal, got it an about 1 week. I was happy with my experience.
Great men have vision and resolve to make dreams come true.

I got the cheapest of the cheap Savage..... a Stevens 200. The trigger is so so, and could/should be replaced with a basix( try to get one in Canada :() the stock is grim looking but that rifle

45-70,

I took my "grim" Stevens 200 stock (that's a good word for it.....Grim!!) and camo painted it up to look better:

As far as the factory trigger goes....I bought some .045 piano wire from Midway and replaced the factory wire. It brought the trigger pull down to 4.25lbs which was much better than the 6+lbs that the factory pull was. http://www.varminthunters.com/tech/savage/

I didn't want to invest a bunch of money in the Stevens, but the little that I have has made it better looking and better too shoot! BTW....I also put a Limbsaver on it. Much nicer to go range shooting now.
