Winchester USA .223 45gr Varmint
« on: July 16, 2008, 07:03:33 AM »
I can't find the Winchester USA .223 45gr Varmint load available anywhere that my Handi-Rifle likes the best.  Can you tell me why?  Thanks!

IRAQ!! Winchester quit making it until the military demand ends, it hasn't been available for a long time now.

Thanks,  Tim.  My .223 also shoots the Winchester Ballistic Silver Tip about the same as the White Box 45gr but it is quite expensive for target practice.  Any suggestions for a good replacement cartridge for the White Box?  I don't reload.

Ultramax reman 40gr NBT or Black Hills 52gr match HP, they both shoot almost as good as the WWB in mine. MSP Ret's 223 shoots the Rem 55gr real well, but I've never tried it, I still have about 400 rounds of the WWB to shoot up before I have to start reloading for it, many have tried to duplicate the WWB unsucessfully.

And welcome aboard! ;)

+1 on the Ultramax. My Handi really loves the 55grain soft points. Very consistant loads.
Have lights? Thank a Lineman!
