I would either contact Savage or do a google search.

Depending on the hole spacing, Ram-Line makes a youth stock that can be had for about $60. Midsouth  shows  it for @ $52, out is of stock at this time.

You need a little more information to find a proper stock.  You can find at least 4 bolt hole spacings, old intermediate action, newer short action, new long action and new center feed long and short actions, guess that makes 5.  If it is a 243 factory job and it is called a 110 then it sounds like it may be one of the older intermediate length actions.  That could be a trick finding a stock for it.  Center to center bolt spacing on a short action accutrigger non-center feed action is 4.325 measured from a plastic one I have sitting here.  Larry

Check ebay or just cut an inch off the stock you have.

Ditto on taking an inch off the stock. A competent smith can do it for probably < $50 and you can always add a pad and spacer later if you want to add to LOP as the boy grows.

Lots of the older Savages had very large stocks in all dimensions, Wide, Long and Tall, so it may be a general size problem, not the LOP.  Larry

Even the new(er) ones are kinda like that.  Mine is about 5 years old and is typically my plain-jane go-to gun for hunting, but I don't shoot it much besides that so I don't handle it much during the off season.  I was going through the rifle cabinet the other day though cleaning some guns and decided to take out the Savage to clean since deer season is coming up, and I couldn't help but notice how wide the rear grip area is.  Not enough to really matter a lot, but compared to most of my other guns it certainly has a less comfortable feel to it.
