Here's one you won't see everyday, Model 45 .22
« on: January 30, 2009, 03:47:44 PM »

I bought this S&W Model 45 in .22 caliber earlier this month. First one I've ever seen. Basically it's a Model 10 but in .22 caliber.

Thanks for the replies.  I found it at Bob's Gun Shop in Norfolk, VA.  It cost $950. That  sounds high, but it's really a decent price due to its rarity and condition.

Congrats! I would have paid that same amount gladly.  ;)

Congratulations on a rare find.  Looks to be in premo condition too.

The funny thing about it is that it looks almost identical to my old Taurus Model 94 made before they switched to the heavy full length ejector rod shroud.   Very nice looking gun.

Thanks for sharing......that is a rare one.....seems I read somewhere that they were made for the U.S. Postal Service on special order many years ago.......I've only heard about them and had a shooting buddy that went to SW armours school and one of his classmates had one he was telling them about......enjoy it and good luck and good shooting!!

The model 45 was made for 29 years. Where are they?
