I guess the guy bought it for a hunt he never went on. I have a $50 dollar gift certificate my sister in law gave me for CHRISTmas so really $1000. :D I figure I'll save near $1000 compared to a new one. I really was looking for a .500 but never got around to ordering one up. For as much as I shoot these days it probably makes more sense to get a good conditioned used one.

Saw a new field grade today, rubber grips for $1295. (If that helps you with your decision.)

You would be hard pressed to find a quality 475 for less that is for sure.

Update! I went to take a closer look checking the mechanicals and finish. The throats look sharp, lockup is tight on all chambers, crown is perfect, barrel cyl. gap looks tight. As far as the finish it looks pretty good you can see where the owner lightly scotchbrited the powder burns on the cyl. the front sight looks a little powdered up and the rear sight has a little black rubbed off. I am offering $950 since they can't find the box and papers. I hope to close escrow tommorrow. ;D

I talked to the owner. It has been shot 50 times with factory ammo and he is giving me a box of Buffalo bores. Im going right now to do the paperwork.

Yeah I know how you feel. I just happened to stop by the gun shop at the last moment before heading home from work. I had no idea I would see an FA let alone a .475! I let a few good deals slip by in years past so this time I had to go for it.
