I have five complete Handi's and a .308 barrel that I have not yet fitted.
The engine in my son's car blew up last night (over 300,000 miles). He is a junior in college carrying a 3.47 GPA, so I am going to do all I can to help.
If'n I decide to sell some of my toys, to help finance a new ride for my son, which ones would you sacrifice?
I have decided I am keeping my .270 Howa, if that makes any difference in your opinion. It has been very faithful to me since 1995 and I just bought it a new Timney trigger.
My Handi's:
.45 Colt (reamed to .454 Casull) Complete Gun
.223 Bull Barrel 2006 manufacture (1-9 twist) Complete Gun
.357 (1995 manufacture, can't be reamed to MAX due to frame limitations) Complete Gun
7.62x39 2002 (I think) manufacture. Complete Gun
.22 LR Complete Gun
.308 Barrel, in the process of fitting to the .223 frame mentioned above.
The .357 is very accurate, the 45 was also before I reamed it to .454. Haven't fired it since.
The .223 and 7.62x39 have never been fired.
I had a different .223 barrel mounted on the .357 frame, but didn't care for the accuracy of it. Probably 'cause I was shooting 62 grain bullets in a slow twist barrel.
Never fired the .308 barrel.
The 22 LR will put 10 shots into a 1" diameter hole at 50 yards all day long, with any kind of ammo I feed it. Probably the most accurate .22 I have ever fired.
If you could only keep 2. Which two would it be? Most likely, I will keep the .22 LR.
I mostly hunt deer and small game in Tennessee where a 100 yard shot is considered long range. I DO plan on going out west for Antelope in the next couple of years, if my health holds up.
Everyone's input appreciated.
