Tell me why I need these...seeking enablers
« on: May 14, 2008, 08:51:04 AM »
As many of us do, I stop by local shops at any opportunity, and always scope out the Handi's.
This week, at two different shops, I found a used 12 ga. with full vent rib barrel, silver frame, fairly recent manufacture, nice walnut stock. $129, and an AT(1979) 16 ga. with cch frame, average stock. At third shop, new 28 ga.

I don't have shotguns in any of these bores (only 20 and .410).  Tell me why I need them. Or not. ;D

Thanks.
Don

p.s. Ooh, also saw a pair of 45-70 BC's, one new, one on consignment with big brass period scope installed, each at $399.

You don't need the shotguns, forget them!  You need the BC with the brass scope!

If you really think that you need a 12 ga., get it too or wait for a barrel to become available.

It's a known scientific fact that failure to purchase firearms that are drooled over can cause disaster to strike.  In your case I can see where planets may fall out of alignment and hummingbirds my forget to use one wing.

For the preservation of life as we know it you MUST return and purchase a flurry of those guns!

End of enablers.

You need the BC with the brass scope!

But I already have a 45-70 Handi. Surely I don't need more than one! ::)

You really really need another 45-70, you can never have too many of them. As for the 16ga, you just box it up and send it to me and I will make sure it is well taken care of. And pick up the 28 and send it to Shaner to take care of, that way I can help Stimpy dig him up after he dies and takes all them guns with him!

No, no,  no... back up and wait a minute. The 12 ga. you're talking about is the Deluxe. EVERYBODY NEEDS a Deluxe in the safe. I have one and it's the nicest shooting shotgun I own bar none. It even points better than my Remington 870.

Buy them all!!! Let me know where you are located and which ones you don't buy!!! That $129.00 TDC is a GREAT buy...If you look again you will find it has screw in choke tubes!!! Everyone that calls himself a shotgunner NEEDS both a 16 AND a 28 (the 28 just for fun!!) Al.so, do not let that 45/70 with the period long brass scope get away either....<><....:)

The Donald Sutherland character Oddball in Kelly's Heroes, only it was waves, not vibes. ;) Sources below, I cheated!! :o :D

You get super extra points.  It was "Wave's" now that you mention it.  Loved that character.

I would rather have a 28g with two barrels soldered together, either stacked
or one beside the other. A single barrel is ok for a beginner ???
But and Ultra Slug gun is another story. ;D

If they know you have a single shot they think you'll shoot slow, So you see you gotta have 4 or 5 .45-70 loaded up and ready that way when them rabbid honery ground squirrel attack you can fend off a pack of'em and they be thinking ya got a repeater and maybe they won't come back, Now them scatter guns is good when theys get close cuz them ya can take out a bunch of them critters with one shot, and if ya got all three ya wouldn't have to reload so much.

Works for me, Heck Quick could hold off a third world country without reloading.

I think Quick has some artillery too.

So tell me where are the shops you speak of ;) ;) ;D ;D ;D

Hasn't anyone ever told you that "To purchase a firearm an excuse need not be". You buy every one you can afford, you can always use for barter some other time, or for trading.

Don -- You're in The great state of Minnesota, aren't ya? I'm just across Big Muddy in the Land o' Cheese, and a 28 has been on my mind some lately . . . which shop did you see that one in? Maybe in Winona? That old bait shop in La Crescent? Hoooeee, with shot prices what they are, there are some long-term savings to be had shooting 28-gauge reloads . . .

It's a rule"everyone needs at least two 45-70's". That's just the way it is. Don't let anyone tell you it's just a guideline.
