You send it, they get it, they work on it, they send it back, simple and easy, no notification. CS is great with great people, they are spread thin and work hard, no sense in making more work for them. If you got the USPS Delivery Confirmation you know they got it, unless you think the USPS is lying about delivering it you are good to go, Sit back, relax, and wait for the magic, enjoy life....<><....:)

If you order a barrel, don't put your credit card number on the paperwork, right "call me" with a phone number.
Just before they take the gun into the shop, they will call you.  then watch your account, when they are done they will charge your credit card.

I mailed my buffalo classic on Wed april 30th.  they received it on Friday but checked it on on Monday the 5th.  for both repair and an additional barrel.
They called yesterday morning to tell me the barrel I wanted was out of stock for 10 weeks, so I bought a different barrel. Yesterday afternoon I saw the charge hit my credit card.  I called them around 2:00 because my billing address is different then my ship to address, I just wanted to make sure they got that straight.  They said it was heading to shipping. I guess they shipped it today, so I expect UPS to have it at my Moms Monday. (we are only down in SE PA, I get UPS ground stuff out of boston next day most times.)

They replaced the barrel lock (or latch?), the lock spring, honed everything, cleaned up the trigger and mounted a 24" 22-250 fluted bull barrel for me.

I just sent it in for a trigger job no extra barrel
I called before I ship it if there would be any charge the girl said no :she did state it will go back with a 3 1/2 lb trigger pull.
I double check it with my RCBS scale and it took about 80oz to break a tad too heavy for me.I paid the shipping $8.50 and I really not in the mood to tackle it myself for that price

Including shipping, I had a receiver fitted with a bull barrel, a set of laminated stock & fore end and a trigger tune up & it was back in hand in under 3 weeks.  I had called to make sure the barrel & wood was available.   The trigger improvement was tremendous.  Kind of makes you wonder why they had to lay hands on again to deliver that quality?  I also shipped a receiver and barrel that need repair of the ejector.   Purchased used, and it was obviously broke when I got it.   The ejector was fixed, but no detectable change in the trigger pull, but it wasn't too bad as is.  What appears to be quality work (haven't put any rounds downrange, had to get some glass first) well packaged and very reasonable turnaround.  Have to contact them about the hammer spur, as it was supposed to be included with the scope mount that was on the new barrel, if I read their barrel listing info correctly.
Looks like they "polish" the barrel exterior with a wire brush before bluing, but that appears to be normal.
Will that bow kill an elk?     Sure.....but arrows are much more effective.

I sent a 17 HMR in to have an accuracy problem corrected.  Ask them to do the trigger and fit 22 LR and 22 Mag barrels to the action while they had it.  It's on it's way home and should arrive tomorrow according to the UPS tracking site.  Looking forward to getting it.

Problem with this is they called this morning, got home last night, to tell me it was on it's way.  I had called them some time back and ask them to delay shipment as we were going to be out of the area for an unscheduled trip.  They did not hold the shipment.  If we had had to be away for a few more days there would have been no one to accept shipment.  When I called I told them we may have to be gone for an extended period of time, I was assured they would wait for confirmation that it was OK to ship the package.

As it happens this worked out fine, could have been a problem and I'm a bit disappointed they did not do as agreed.  If you have this kind of problem it may be wise to have someone available to receive the shipment.

Well, the rifle showed up today as scheduled.

I had sent the rifle in a shipping case with egg crate foam inside.  The case is designed for this purpose and does a good job of keeping rifles from being damaged by the baggage destroyers at the airports.  Along with a simple lock the case has provision for securing it with heavy tie-wraps at several points.  When I sent the rifle in I included tie-wraps for the return trip.

Shipping at that end elected to wrap the case in tape and then put cardboard and more tape over the whole thing.  Very well packaged and protected.

Problem was someone decided to take the tie-wraps supplied to secure the case and bind the new barrels to the rifle very tightly.  I now have two barrels and a complete rifle with marks on them where they rubbed together during transport.  It would seem logical to simply put the rifle and barrels in the case and let the foam hold them as it's designed to do.

With the coming changes in the company I'm really reluctant to return them to the factory again.  Maybe the pending layoffs are starting to be impacting customer service.  Whatever the cause the shipping of a gun with steel on steel contact in this manner is inexcusable IMO.
