I dont think I could stand to live anywhere else but AK....
The only complaint I have is a sore back from my 3 or 4 cords of wood I've had to process the last few days . ;-)

I like Alaska just fine. It costs me about $1500 per month, and I can drop that to about half that if I need to. I should to build up my savings.
Then again, I don't have a family to support.
