  I've been hand loading for rifle and pistol for years.  I have both single stage and progressive shotgun presses but haven't gotten into that yet.  I will start hunting with 20 guage slugs soon.  I've seen brass shot shells in the past and I'm woundering, can they be used to load a slug or would you use plastic hulls.  I reload to get the most acurate loads for my gun.  Can the same be done for a slug gun?  Is it worth it?

I have reloaded the BPI Dangerous Game Slug for years, and it is the most accurate slug out of my 870 Rifled Barrel.  They are even easier to reload than rifle ammo.  BPI has a roll crimper that attaches to a drill.

varmitbob, I find that interesting. What kind of range are the slugs designed for. I too would like to "spin" my own. Do the slugs come with reloading data? I really wanted to reload into Hornady XTP's like a Win. Partition with a sabot, but I can't find loading data or sabots for 20 gauge. JamesIII

James, you can get 20 ga sabots and data from Gun Servicing in Bordentown NJ. by calling Emma at 609-261-2576 after 5 PM on weekdays.  These CCS sabots work great with the Hornady 45 cal XTP loads.  I have been using them for the last couple of years and have been more than satisfied with the accuracy and the knock down power of them.

150 yds on a paper plate every time.  I have not tried to range out further.  150 yds is the fartherest I would ever shoot at a deer where I hunt.  I have loaded the sabots, BPI has them in their slug reloading manual.  They are very high velocity, but they do not have the mass of the Dangerous Game Slug.  The reload manual puts them at the same ballistics as a 30/30.  Unless you need rifle type range, the DGS is the ticket. I have not lost any deer with the DGS, they go down quickly.
