help me pick a new top end xbow
« on: February 26, 2008, 05:37:12 PM »
Forum members: My Barnett Demon cross bow is being retired after years of faithful service. I will be buying a new crossbow soon. It will be used for whitetail deer hunting from elevated and ground blinds on my own 120 acre property. I would like to be able to shoot it accurately to 40-50 yards. I can still manually cock it, but any cocking aid would be a plus. I want a top of the line cross bow with a scope and any other necessary accessories. I have an UNLIMITED budget range. I am considering Ten Point, Excalibur and Horton. I have read about each on this forums threads. Please feel free to make your case as to which crossbow, scope and accessories you would buy if money were no object. I only want to buy the best ONCE. TIA for any responses

There is nothing wrong with my Barnett Demon, I just feel that the technology has progressed. I have been bow hunting since I was 12 years old in Wisconsin. Now, because of carpal tunnel and arthritis in my hands, I qualify for a crossbow permit according to the WI DNR. Due to a small windfall, I want to buy new crossbow. I have a 120 acre tree farm in Central WI for my hunting property. Anyone recommend any other manufacturers? I certainly want to do my homework before I make a purchase.

Excal Exocet w/ Lumi-zone, Miller over the bow quiver, 431 gr GT LII's which includes 100 gr Slick tricks, rope cocker, stringing aid, "Boo" custom string. [Flem Excel w/ served on cat whiskers]  IMHO, you cannot buy a more accurate or more reliable bow for any price.
