Has anyone fluted their Sportster?
« on: February 12, 2008, 05:31:22 PM »
Just wondering if this has been done, and what the results were.

Thinking about getting the barrel on the 17 HMR fluted.

I am aware that the barrel may warp and the bore may change, but still think it'd be interesting to do. 8)

I have thought about doing just that in fact I ordered a 17HMR today from walmart $149 and am waiting for a set of "Bumble Bee" stocks to get here what I thinking about doing is having the barrel fluted then paint the grooves the same as the yellow in the stocks .Thought that might be cool. I don't think it would be a problem as there is plenty of meat on the sportster barrels. Keep us posted if ya do it. Kurt
