3030 handi reloading

I have some 125 grain nosler ballistic tip that I would like to use in my 3030 handi.  any ideas about using imr 3031?   anyone have any loads worked up for this would help.   I havent posted in a long time but read all the time keep up the good work everyone.   I also have a handi 243 that I would never give up for anything just love these little handi's

Yes I've loaded those and Hornady 130 gr SP's in my 30-30 with good success using IMR 3031. Go to the Hodgdon Powder site, look up 30-30 pistol loads. Think you'll find what you are looking for. One caution, you may have to seat the pointed bullets a little further than normal to clear the lands. Max or near max worked for me.

I've loaded the 125gr to 2.700", I'd have to go to 2.835" to reach the lands in my 30-30 Handi barrel!! :o Haven't shot them yet tho, that won't happen until spring green up!! ;D

Sticking in the lands only seems to be a problem when someone tries to seat a pointed bullet to the cannilure if it has one instead of taking the proper overall length measurement like you did. Measuring usually means going past the crimp ring.
