barrel options for SB2 Reciever. Need clarification !
« on: February 01, 2008, 05:01:39 AM »
Just picked up a Handi-rifle Survivor, .308 Win. Can I have a .22rf, Ultragon 12 ga. LW slug barrel and a bull barrel .223 fitted to the same receiver?

No on the rimfire, think about the firing pin position. ;D

Tim, you are absolutely right in the design of of current .22 barrels.
A chamber adapter may be the best/cheapest choice. As for it not being possible that is another subject.   Probably the cheapest way is to silver solder an offset barrel in a standard diameter shank. Unfortunately that would be cost prohibitive on a production piece. It could be made to look quite presentable and sufficiently accurate, especially in a bull barrel.

H&R won't fit a rimfire barrel to a centerfire frame, even the versa pack barrel, even if it wasn't discontinued, you didn't mention custom work, of course it can be done if you have the resources or money, but not in the reference that you asked, just buy a 22Lr Sportster to add to your collection, they can be had new for less than the cost of an accessory barrel. ;)
