Surprising how good squiirel stew tastes...just waxing nostalgic for some squirrel hunting.Got these  eastern grays last season with a Marlin .22 Mag bolt action rifle (next to an unlucky chuck). The chuck I did not eat..Hmmm maybe just not hungry enuf? ::) but the tree rats ere quite tasty.Thought you guys would enjoy the pix.

I can't wait for October 15 to get here and being able to bust a few. Got my new squirrel gun ordered (Ruger MKIII 6" Stainless) and am ready to get sighted in and get hunting. I done ate all of the ones I killed last year so it is starting to really seem like a long time til opening morning!

I thank God everyday for my loving wife and all the fond memories of hunting with my Papa from a child until now.

Please take time to take a kid hunting, it will be a life long memory and blessing for both of you!

Nice Pictures... 8)

I'll be out later this week shooting my .32 calibre muzzle loader. It is such a fun gun to take on a squirrel hunt.

“Ain't this somethin'? I told my pap and mam I was going to be a mountain man; acted like they was gut-shot. Mother Gue said to me; ‘Make your life go here, son. Here's where the people is. Them mountains is for Indians and wild men.’  "Mother Gue", I says "the Rocky Mountains is the marrow of the world," and by God, I was right.
