To make a long story shorter my brother is more of a fisherman. Well I was kinda disappointed when he said he was going to go deer hunting with his girlfriends brother at the drop of a hat and i have to pull teeth to get him to go with me. Well anyways he came over and asked if he could borrow a rifle. I was feeling under the weather so i let him take the Handi. I told him don't take a long shot with it as i have not shot that far and don't know where it will hit past 150. Well the girlfriends brother has a Rem 30-06 that he has taken deer out to 320.  My brother took a shot with that at 280 and missed. He called me the next day(yesterday) and I was feeling better and last weekend of the season for us. Well I said lets go tonight. I met him out at the farm around 3:30 PM and he tried to hand me my gun. I said NOPE you are the one hunting today. I think he got excited. HAHA well anyways we go out and I let him in my stand( I have two stands in one tree.... mine is the one that you get a better view of the deer AHHAHA) Well he is in the tree I am climbing up and I put his safety harness around the tree and in the middle of getting mine hooked in when I look over and low and behold .... deer. a doe about 175-200. LOL I say don't move she sees us. MY BROTHER SAID "I KNOW". I am thinking when were you going to tell me that you see a deer. Well anyways she walked off some time later and then 3 came out from the same spot she walked into the woods. Well I guess it was the same 3 that came up the other side of our pond behind the cedars. I told my brother get ready they are headed right for us. I about scared them laughing because I told my brother if he wants one take it just pick the big one take your time and squeeze the trigger. HAHAHA he said are you gonna help me clean it. HAHAHA . Next thing I know BOOM. I see the doe front end drop and she runs off. I look at my brother and he is SHAKING. I of course congratulate him and say lets just sit for a minute. He couldn't take it he said "I need to get down I am shaking to bad" Now I loose it I laughed out loud. We get down and realize we forgot the flashlight as it is now about 15 till dark. He went to get the flashlight and I am looking for blood well I found blood lung etc. More bad luck my darn camera battery went dead. So no pic but let me say the memory will always be there We found the doe ... My brothers first deer and he made a PERFECT shot just behind the shoulder with no meat damage. 100gr corelokt did not exit again. Could not find the bullets but serious wound channel. .... You know these hunting experiences have done two things for me GREAT GREAT enjoyment being in the tree when 2 grown men have taken their first deer and also made me wonder why in the world I chose the 25-06 LOL every shot has been with 60 yards and am using a bean field gun. Anyways I couldnt be more proud of my brother and I hope this has struck a nerve and we get to do it again next season. Sorry it ended up being a long winded post. Stu

The cleaning part was no real suprise was it  as for the 25 , mine is becoming one of my fav. Handi's . Next year he gets to field dress the deer , right .

Stu- great story and good for you getting your brother interested in hunting. Sounds like you got a new hunting buddy, but he field dresses it next year!

Yea this has been a good year for me deer hunting .... harvested and ate  two deer myself and then i was there when my bro got his first deer (with my handi) and then I also got my sisters boyfriend his first deer also ( that was the other grown man in my first post ) and last but not least seen the biggest buck I have ever seen on our farm or for that matter... ever. Now I cant wait to see if my little girl will be there in the tree or wherever we decide to hunt when she gets older.(she is only 3 but will watch hunting shows with me)   .... and thanks for the kind words yall
