What barrles can my Handi handle?

My buddy gave, yes gave me a complete Handi in 243, but I didn't like that cal so I sold it to a board member a while back.  The serial # on the frame starts with NK573xx.  The cals. I've been thinking about are 308, 223cal. 30/30.  Will the frame handle these cals?  Thanks for your input.  Later.

go to h&r's website they will have information on the  barrel order page....If it is an SB2 it will handle any of their barrels....

You and STUMPJMPR need to read the FAQs, the K in the serial number denotes the year of mfr, 1996, which is too old to be fitted with any high pressure barrels, those marked with an * on the accessory barrel list. The .308 is one such barrel that requires an NN or HN(1999) or later serial number prefix, the 30-30 and 223 can be fitted to it tho.

i wasn't aware of serial numbers just the model which their website list sb2 only all over the barrel accessory page

You do see the asterisk * marked barrels, don't ya? Look at the bottom of the rifle lists, you'll see this too.
