new CZ 550 American Safari Classic
« on: April 19, 2008, 03:26:07 AM »
I just received my new CZ 550 American Safari Magnum and I'm very impressed. I was debating between this gun and a Ruger African. They were pretty much the same price but I went with the CZ because the .375 H&H ammo is easier to find and cheaper to boot. I ordered the field grade and was pleasantly surprised a very nicely figured piece of Walnut. Even the gun shop was impressed. I don't think I would have received that from Ruger. The gun also came with dual cross bolts that have crosses on them instead of the spanner wrench looking ones I have seen in the past. The checkering was very good and the inletting was very good as well. The gun also came with rings which was also a suprise. I whish they were QD, but I'm not complaining. The action is probably not as smooth as a ruger, but with use I know it will slick up as most mausers do. Overall I very, very happy with this gun. Quality is every bit as good as the Ruger, larger magazine capacity, and probably better looking because of the beautiful walnut stock.

I've never posted Pics before. I'm getting ready to leave town for a couple of days, perhaps when I get back I can work that out.
