« on: December 18, 2007, 05:31:33 AM »
I just came into a gun from my aunt that was owned by her husband, no stories came with the gun as he was not a big talker.
it is a FN model 1910  ser#36519  it also has numerous Nazi stampings.  I can't find any info pertaining to the Nazi markings in my refrence books.
any help would be great-  thanks

I'm pretty sure you have the Model 1910/22, which is the elongated version of the Model 1910.  It was the pistol produced by FN under German occupation.

The Model 1910/22 is generally found with one of three waffenamts --- WaA613, WaA103, or WaA140.  The ones marked WaA613 were produced from May, 1940 to early 1941.  The ones marked WaA103 were produced in early to later 1941.  The ones marked WaA140 are the most commonly encountered and were produced from late 1941 until the Allies liberated the plant iin 1944.

Your serial number indicates that it is one of 36,000 in the 24,000-60,000 range manufactured in 1941.  It should have the WaA103 waffenamt.  The 103 is an inspector's stamp indicating that it met German military specs.  The German army's acceptance mark was usually a stylized eagle clutching a swastika in it's claws.
