Give me some kudos on the 308

At first, It was between the 30-06 and the 270 for a good 100 yd. rifle. Since it will be bought after the 1st of the year, and looking some more, I come to look at the 308. I have been looking at the ballistics and all, and it seems to fit the bill quite nicely. I would like to get it in the handi also. Of course before it sees the first bullet, it will get squeaky cleaned and I'll polish the bore with fllitz. I've been reading how accurate a caliber it is too. I won't say that I won't shoot passed 100yds, but if I do, maybe 150 yds. Also, I've been reading that 150 gr. bullet works real good on deer!

those are great 2-300yard guns or more in adequate hands (not mine)

If I could own only one gun ,Any of those 3 would work.  I like the 308 or the 06 but ive heard good things about the 270 . Its been said before, We,re more collectors than deciders. Sorry no help at all.   Jay

I have a 308 (not a Handi though) and love it!
Also have a .270 and had a 06, if I had to pick one it would be the 308.
I like the other two very well and they have there place, but the more I use the 308 the better I like it.
