I haven't been on their site (Howa) for quite a while so I assume you're referring to the Howa Varminter Supreme.  I have the SS heavy barrel, thumbhole laminated stock in 22-250 and I really like it.   I couldn't leave well-enough alone so I pillar bedded the action and full-floated the barrel (which it was supposed to be anyway).   And after using it, I can highly recommend the bedding kit from Score High Gunsmithing www.scorehi.com.  Quality kit, and helpful people.  I also installed a Timney trigger.  It had to be exchanged because Howa made a production change with their 3 position safety.  Unless there's been a drastic change, God help any of you who ever has to contact Timney by phone and expect them to ever answer it.  The Howa trigger is adjustable, but with mine the adjustment was fairly limited.
In any event, it shoots even tighter groups now and I could'nt be happier with it.  It's one of the best buys I've ever made gun-wise.
