No experience, but I understand they are the long recoil action, like the long lived Browning Auto-5 / Remington Model 11's

Some years ago I had one in 20 ga. I really liked it and had no trouble at all with the shotgun.

OJ, a few years ago I had one in 28ga. Delightful little gun, just would not cycle light loads though. And before you tell me I know about the friction ring. Worked great with high brass loads though. Byron

I have an AL 48 my father bought me back in 1970.  stills works as good today as it did when I first got it. Wouldn't trade it for anything

I've used one since the early 70's. Never a problem. Lighter than most because it uses alloys instead of steel. Digests anything I feed it. Shot a pheasant with it yesterday. I also like the feeding - open the action, pull out the shell from the chamber - the ones in the mag won't feed unless the gun is actually fired, and you pull them from the bottom without cycling the action. This has always seemed to me to be a handy and safe way to go. You can't go wrong.
