The mystery has been solved. All it took was a screwdriver too.
The bedding screws had worked loose as well as the windage adjustment screw on the Leupold base for the rings. I gave them the works and headed out to the range on Friday and after 9 shots I was back to shooting 1MOA. After 4 more shots I was shooting sub MOA.
I took the gun with me up to the deer lease and took it out with me to the stand. All confidence has returned.
