Howa package gun
« on: October 02, 2007, 02:23:54 PM »
I was at my local gun shop and spotted a Howa package gun that had a camo stock and a scope already installed.  It also came with a Howa gun case.  My question is has anyone purchased this combo and how good is the stock.  Also price checking here.

Thanks

I bought one with the black cheapo stock. The stock was pretty sensitive to the torque on the screw holding the stock on (the forward one). I guess I could have glass bedded the stock that came with the gun but I bought a Bell & Carlson stock which looks much better. The new stock had sensitivity to screw tightness also but not nearly as much as the original stock. I glass bedded the B&C stock and floated the barrel. The Sterling scope that came with the rifle went belly up in less than a year and I just changed it out.
Hunting and fishing are not matters of life or death. They are much more important than that.
