New "Classic" Smiths are casehardened?

Was this something S&W used to do? I don't remember seeing any. It looks cool, but wrong at the same time.

Casehardened cases have been out for quite a while. I never really noticed when they changed and I've been shooting sciece the early 60's.

read an article that said S&W had not done that to double action revolvers before , but the way shooting rags get stuff mixed up who knows . I can say the new ones are the first i ever saw . They have a different look for sure not bad but not sure the out class a good bluing job . In the long run they will be collectible for sure !
