« on: June 15, 2007, 01:02:37 PM »
this is how far I have gotten on my G.B. Coehorn project . kinda scarred to do the trunnion, I really like the look of the interference fit opposed to welding it. The total length is 7" outside diameter is 4" Bored 1.70 to a depth of 3.625 powder chamber is bored at 45/64 or ( .7031 ) and is 1.125 deep material is H.R.S. vent hole is drilled w/ a #14 drill bit ( .1850) I think.

Sorry no powder can yet I'm working on it.   M223

You're making it a link instead of a picture. Use the icon just to the right of the "W".
I may not be completely sane, but at least I don't think I have the power to influence the weather.

Not to divert your attention from pursuing your original goal, here's a pix of a hand-held chunk of 4140 in golf-ball caliber.  A little overdone, but fun to shoot (very little kick and 30-40 gr of ffg gets 100-200 yards).

With gloves.  (to protect from powder burns)

Kicks about like a .38 - very mild.  BUT the first time I didn't know, so it was an exciting moment.

Here is the instruction from My Hosted Pictures on how to post a picture from there to here

BB Code - Copy the text from the BB Code field if you want to include the image in a message on a website discussion forum that uses standard bulletin board codes (forums running phpbb, Invisionboard or VBulletin support this format of linking to images).

Click on the line called BB code and it will highlight blue, Ccopy the blue high lighted line using your favorite method to copy. Then paste that line in the message. And your picture will show when the message is posted.

Thanks to whomever fixed my picture issue I appreciate your time. Also Thank you D.D. For the excellent walk through on posting. Believe it or not I have never copied & pasted before. I will see what that is all about and I should be good to go! Aside from my poor computer skills does anyone think the tube looks O.K.? I was Kinda wanting a little feedback on it. It took me maybe 4 hours to get to where I'm at now. I  free handed every thing on the lathe. My friend is getting ready to make one similar to this so any criticisms will be passed on to him in order to improve are efforts. Thanks folks!  M223

OK, let's form the US Golf and Artillery Association (USGAA) and either march or have a float in the Doo Dah Parade (the alternative, tongue-in-cheek Rose Parade.)   ;D

How about a golf cart pulling a trailer pulling some wheeled field pieces?  On the trailer are some paraders launching golf balls into the crowd.

I second George's nomination for President of the USGAA; but respectfully decline association with the Doo Dah parade.

(Should this be a Poll? So folks can vote?)
