cut group size in half
« on: June 02, 2003, 04:12:00 PM »
I have 2 41 mags. A black hawk w/6.5 barrel and a new S&W 657 classic hunter w/7.5" in. barrel. I've been reloading Carroll 215swc for  a couple of years. the other day I thought I'd try something different. I tried tumbling the bullets in Lee alox liquid lube. I found that it cut the group size on my smith from 5 in. at 50 yards to about 2". And with my ruger from 6" to 3.5.  I agree with you. It's hard to believe. try it. the only other thing that I did different was that I flared the case a little more so the alox didn't peel off when seated. Also this load was 9gr. of hs6. Also I tried it with 7gr. of unique with like results. Both around 1000fps. I play with loads alot. I think that this is the one  thing that I've found that really works.
