Time frame on handi re-barrel?
« on: March 16, 2007, 06:37:22 AM »
Does anyone know what kind of time frame I would be looking at to have a second barrel fitted by the factory?

Turkey season is coming soon and I won't need the 22 mag, so I thought that would be a perfect time to send it back and have 'em stick on a 22LR barrel and trigger job it. Plus.....and this is real important!!!....I won't have to tell my wife it's "another new gun"....'cause technically....it's not!! ;D ;D ;D. It's just an "upgrade" to an existing one.

It is running anywere from 6 to 10 weeks to get a barrel fitted and returned , but for the price that it will cost to do this you may be better off just buying a new 22LR Sportster , they run anywere from $100 to $120 depending on were you get them .

Your looking at about $85 just for the barrel , fitting and return shipping , plus another $15 or so to ship the rifle to H&R , so you are at about $100 there .
