Buying BSA Optics can be a real roll of the dice, might be great, maybe not, lots of shooter swear by them, others swear at them, they've earned some names just as Tasco has, but the bright side is their CS is great from all reports at RFC. I've got a couple, a red dot that fogged up on me the first time I used in in damp weather, the other is an airgun scope that's performed just fine for several years on a heavy spring gun. Eye relief is critical on it, but the glass is clear and bright, and it's held zero just fine.

This makes thr 3rd one that i have gotten , the first was a handgun model that came apart on the 12th round from my 41 , the 2nd was a rifle model that cot so snowy on me after about 2 weeks that i let the kids use the tube to lanch bottle rockets from .

And unless their CS has changed in the last 2 years , it realy stunk , i have heard how much people talk about the sweet 17 that i desided i will give them one last chance . It does seem to have nice glass , very clear & crisp .

PS --- It was on sale and i am a cheap skate sometimes .

Well, actually there are glowing reports on RFC about BSA CS, and it has been in the last couple years, according to Lawdog, bless his dear departed soul, they revamped a couple years ago and have great service, he was a real loyal and happy owner of 14 of the AR31242 airgun scopes and the reason I bought mine, even after having poor performance with the red dot.

quickdtoo,

I'm thinking about putting a BSA air rifle scope on my 20 guage slug gun. Do you think it will hole together? I have read that, they are tuff for the money!

Thanks!

Depends on the model, the AR31242 doesn't have enough eye relief for the slug gun, I think it would be an eye whacking experience!! :o  I think I'd pick one of the shotgun scopes for it, some of the Banners have 4-6" of eye relief and won't break the bank, great scopes for the money.

I had a sweet 17 on my 17hmr and it stay zeroed and all only thing i didnt like about it that the glass was foggy at the edges and when u zommed it in it got real bad it was a 6 18 40 with adjustable objective and a person would adjust it didnt seem to matter and the compensater didnt work it was for 17 gr bullets got in dead on at a 100yards went back 200yd moved the turret to 200 wouldnt hit what i was shooting at shot like 10 time so i just turned it to a 100 and raised the cross hairs a little on the target nailed it first shot i didnt care about the scope so its off my rifle sitting in my gun safe in the box i didnt think it was very clean but mabe it just me i got a bushnell scope on my 17 now
