300 Whisper barrel length

What is the optimal barrel length for a contender? I am thinking of getting a 12". Would I be giving up much by not going to a 14"?

That tiny case is ideal for use with 10" barrels. Personally I'd not want it in a 14" but many do so. I'd go no longer than 12" and likely for me wouldn't want more than a 10".
