Value of .41 magnum Redhawk
« on: March 23, 2007, 02:21:40 AM »

I found a .41 mag Redhawk in a LGS yesterday.  It is a blue, 7.5", with Pachmyr grip.  Definitely used. No box, no papers, no rings.  Could stand to be cleaned.  What problems, if any, should I look for, and what would YOU pay for one in less than pristine condition?  They are asking $480, but that seems high to me.

BTW, I've looked at Gunbroker for prices, but they only have pristine units up right now, which is not a good comparison.

Thanks.

Don,

If it was me... well $300 sounds more like it. But I bet they won't go below $400, if so tell them new they weren't that much. I think the one a friend bought was right at $490 or so NIB with rings in stainless, but that was a few years ago.

And the original .357 10 1/2" flat tops were well under the prices they command now too.  That ld price means zilch now.   The Redhawk in question...without really knowing how used it is (condition) I'd say $375-$400.  It's not an investment piece as it is so unless it's someting you want as a shooter...

Thanks, Greg and BH.  I guess I need to figure out how much I want it, and how badly they want to sell it. In the $300's somewhere is where it'll need to be for me. It's clearly "just" a shooter, but that's okay.

I picked up a 5.5" stainless Redhawk in .44 a few weeks ago.  The gun had Uncle Mike's grips (no original grips) and no box.  It has been used but by no means abused.  Nice finish (I mean no scratches).  $370 out the door.
