I have a 7X30 Waters in the 14 inch version of a Contender.  I was shooting the Sierra, 130 grain single shot spire points.  It is my understanind that that bullet is no longer made.  What bullet should I try next for a general hunting load in this cartridge?  I like the Noslers BT, but they are a little pricey.  Would a Remington bulk bullet work?

Any comments and input will be appreciated.

My experience with Remington Rifle Bullets in other calibers of Speciality Pistols is that they are a little too tough to expand reliablly on broadside chest shots at the reduced velocities most speciality pistols produce.

I used the 120gr. Nosler Ballistic Tips in a 7-30 Waters with excellent results. Yes the Nosler Ballistic Tips are a litle higher priced but I think you'll be pleased with their on game performance and their increased Ballistic Coefficient.

The Rem bulk bullets will work They MAY not be as accurate as some other bullets. You will have to try them to find out They will make great plinking /practice ammo any way.

This item from Midway is another avenue. It is a cast bullet. More work but MUCH more satisfaction when YOU make the bullet.
I've tried several 120's and even the 139's in my 7-30  14"er .Depending on range they all work well. If you can hit a golf ball at the range you are shooting the deer will die.
