I guess you can sell anything on ebay. Maybe nikon will replace it under warrenty ;D ;D. Then we can't pick on the guy who won it.

gould ... that was my thinking too ... buy a broken scope and get it replaced under warranty for a new one at no cost. If it works for the buyer, so be it.

In the years past, I have picked up several damaged Leupolds and they were replaced. I don't know what kind of warranty Nikon has in place.

Hmmm... maybe it's time to clean out the bottom of the closet and the shed.  Was going to hall all the old crap to the dump but maybe I could find suckerrr... I mean sharp folks to buy it all on ebay and charge them outlandish shipping charges to boot instead.  :D

nikon also has a no questions asked garuantee, this guy was probably just smart and got a brand new scope for 20 dollars and 10 dollar shipping each way.

Yes, but its not a "I dropped my rifle out of my treestand" warranty. 

I tried that when I somehow broke the rear lens out of my monarch a few years ago on a metal tree step while lowering my rifle out of the stand on a rope.  I bought one of these bent dropped nikons on ebay, unscrewed the rear bell, screwed it on to mine, and 20 bux later problem solved.  And i still have the bent scope for other spare parts.

Maybe Nikon should put something in their owner's manuals about not parking your truck on your scope.   ???
