Handi vs Sidekick confusion??
« on: February 07, 2007, 09:11:06 AM »
Hey Guys,

I've been under the impression that NEF developed the Sidekick as blackpowder alternative to the Handi with a blackpowder barrel.   That is to say....the Handi with a blackpowder barrel would still be regulated under the Gun Control Act as a center fire rifle, but the Sidekick had been designed so that this would not be the case.  Am I correct??   I've got a guy who wants an FFl to FFl on a Sidekick!!

The Huntsman was such a firearm, required 4473 processing, but the Sidekick is all ML(cept in Illlinois :-\), a shotgun barrel can't be fitted to it, which the Huntsman could, hence the 4473 requirement.

What Quick said. I have a Sidekick that I ordered from Cabelas, no FFL needed. The frame on the Sidekick is shorter than the Handi so no other barrels can be fitted.
