Pretty Model, Pretty Price
« on: February 02, 2007, 02:24:05 PM »
I saw this on eBay. It is a nicely done model, but a tad on the pricey side.

No affiliation with the seller, but thought it might be of interest.

If it is as good as claimed, there is at least 100 hours work in it.

No details in the description.

Length?
Weight?
Bore diameter?

Can it be fired (didn't see a vent in any of the photos)?

The model sold for $1800. It does not look like any of the models I am familiar with, and if it is a one off, it easily required much more than 100 hours to complete. The details and quality of work look like a first rate job.

I am a modeler more than a full size cannon fan. I find it easier to make and own things that can be carried in one hand. I have a small home shop and make model engines, steam and IC, as well as cannnon and whatever else strikes my fancy.

Here are three of my efforts;

My larger, beater, Fourth of July and New Years salute cannon is outside in the snow. I also have a couple of larger naval guns coming to completion as time permits.

JC   Welcome to the fourm,  It looks like you know how to spend your spare time and from the photo you must have a fair amount of time to devote to a fine project.  You will know and understand the long tedious work of producing a "masterpiece".

Keep up the good work,  Rick Neff
