pistol case ?
« on: March 03, 2007, 09:29:04 AM »
I am finally the owner of a Contender pistol and am looking for a hard sided case for it, reasonably priced of course. It's a G2 with a 14" match 22lr {7-30 Waters is next}. I"ve checked all the local shops and haven't seen anything that would work.Just wondering what everyone uses. Thanks

I use a Doskocill ACCESSORY CASE for a hard case for my Contenders. There is enough room for a Complete Super 14 Contender, extra barrel(s) and some extras. I do not remember the exact dimensions (I'd have to go measure it to be sure) nor the price but I think it was like $55.00.

I have heard of some guys using a spotting scope case to carry their Contenders in but have never done this myself. For a soft sided case I just purchased a couple from Ace Case and am totally pleased with them for the price.

I have always like the hard case for my handguns.  However, I found a soft case that is just as good.  Check out this case, I never leave home without it when going to the range or hunting.

It can safely hold your TC in the senter section and has sections on both sides to carry additional barrels or ammo.  ;)
Just another voice in the crowd!!!

I'm using an aluminum case I bought at our local Harbour Freight store, bought it on sale for around $10.00 +/-. If you don't have one in your area look at your local Menards - Lowes whatever hardware store. The case I bought had foam all the way up and that was slit into 1/2 or so size blocks. I layed my T.C. in it and then cut out the foam to make a nice neat little pocket for my baby. It worked so good I bought two more for my other pistols. They are strong look nice mine are black with protected corners and you can't beat the price. I think I saw them at my local Home Depot for around $20.00 which is still a  lot cheaper than buying one of the brand name gun case's. Peter aka pistolfan

For my 7-30 and .223 I use a TC soft case that holds the action and two barrels. For the .45 Win Mag I use a generic plastic, foam lined case that I bought cheap. Both work.
