Barrel Painting?
« on: December 19, 2006, 11:51:46 AM »
I am sure this has been covered before but I cant' search.
Was thinking of painting my 223 barrel flat black.
What parts of the barrel should be left blued for function?
Any other tips would be appriciated too.

Should I tape off the barrel lug and everything that goes in the reciever or
can I paint some of it.To help prevent rusting.
What about painting the reciever.
Should I remove all internal parts and trigger guard.

I'd be careful on getting any paint in the barrel lug or on the latch shelf or on the hinge pin area....Proper maintenance on it should keep the rust out of the area..
