Aftermarket sights
« on: December 19, 2006, 03:08:01 PM »
Just received the Williams target sight from H&R for my Buffalo Classic. The screws supplied were too long. Had some that worked. My basic reason for the sight was to get a click adjustable unit for in field adjustments without tools. Unless I'm missing someting I still need tools to adjust this sight. Anyone know of a sight that can be adjusted by just turning the knobs? Carrying tools afield defeats the purpose for me. My fault for not calling Williams first, huh? Thanks and happy Holidays to all! Guy

Welcome to the forum, Guy! A lot of H&R owners think the screws are too long, but usually the culprit is thread locker in the threads that prevent the screws from tightening. On over 30 barrels, I have yet to find a barrel that didn't have a bunch of thread locker residue in the bottom of the holes. The holes should have shiny bottoms, if it's dull, it's still plugged up.

Dodd3 fitted his FP sight with thumbs screws to eliminate the need for a screwdriver to make adjustments. I'll se if I can find his post on it.
