Accurate innovations stocks
« on: December 05, 2006, 06:53:37 PM »
I had been planning on getting a nice kevlar stock on my winchester m70 classic in 300 win mag to match the one on my m70 375 H&H but came across one of these accurate innovations stocks.    The first thing that struck me was how light it was, it was a little but heavy but I doubt that this stock weighs any more or even as much as the injection molded plastic stock that comes on the rifle.  It had a great feel to it and with the full aluminum bedding block should be plenty stabil in any invironment.  I'll see how it holds up but I figured it was worth ao go.  It was cheaper than the kevlar stock and appears to be just as good in most respects, and a heck of a lot prettier.  Accuracy was better than the hogue overmolded pillar bedded stock that I had and it was much lighter.    I'm really impressed so far.  Next fall if it takes too much of a beating I'll refinish it with spray on bedliner.   Here is a pic of it.

I had looked at those myself but was primarily interested in the laminated stock.  Since you say that it is lighter than the synthetic stocks, is this the bamboo product that they were to make?  I had heard that they would be lighter in weight than the standard laminate.  Or is it just regular walnut?  It's hard to tell from the picture not knowing what the bamboo will look like.  Keep us informed.  I was thinking about one for a 35 Whelen rifle I shoot.

Nice looking stock. With the stability of an aluminum bedding block. Sounds like the best of both.

Take a look at my 375 H&H it's in an Accurate Innovations stock(myrtle).  I have taken the action out and put it back several times, right bact to zero.  I love it.  You can see it under Custom Rifles (My New Rifle)

It is a beauty.  I have been looking at those AI stocks too - just don't need any new stocks right now.

The Rem. Ultra Mags stocks are the most recoil reducing stocks ever made. I shoot my RUMs with about 40 to 45 lbs of recoil and it doesn't bother me.

JRO45-

I'm not sure I get where you comment came from.   A 300 win is a pusscat to shoot with any stock.  I wasn't concerned with recoil when I got this stock, just durability, stability, weight, and looks.
