Who was the Call in the Call gold bead front sight
« on: November 09, 2006, 04:37:14 AM »
Everyone knows who the McGivern gold bead front sight is named for. I have seen the Call gold bead sight, think it is a good one, but do not know who came up with it or who it is named for. Does anyone? Shotgunner

It was named for C. C. Call, a S&W employee in 1920.  I'm not sure what the C. C. stands for though.

Hello
Charles Call was a one time Smith & Wesson employee, His contribution, (the flat, circular raised bead) precededEd McGivern's raised, hemispherical beaded sight. I hope this helps, Hammerdown

Guys, thanks for the reply. Call happens to be my last name and it is not a very common one. I will try to do a little research on Charles and see what I find. It is a good sight by the way. Shotgunner
